MM Home Tour with Jonna Saarinen

mms_73_tour2

Isn’t it fun looking around other peoples homes? and I have to say it was a joy to look around and photograph the oh so talented Jonna Saarinen’s. Jonna is a textile designer and her Norwegian background, love of colour and vintage and obsession with the Moomins shines through in her home which you can find in its full glory in this months Mollie Makes. You can find copies here.

Tea and a Chat with Katie Jones

MMS70.Q&A

Hello!! Its my first post after my radio silence and its a good one! Last month I had the chance to photograph the fab Katie Jones in her studio in London for a wonderful feature in this months Mollie Makes and I loved every minute of it. Katie is so incredibly talented, not to mention colourful, and her work celebrates woven textiles in it many forms. Each collection, the last of which was displayed in the windows of Selfridges, was incredible to touch and see first hand. If you’d like to read the full article Mollie Makes is available in most supermarkets and I’ve actually found it in most good newsagents. Happy reading and viewing! Look at that amazing cactus!! Eye JOY!

Thread @ Farnham Maltings

Thread 001

It was a lot of fun to head off to Thread at Farnham Maltings last weekend, not only as I was leaving my 3 month old daughter  with her dad for a few hours (it was the first time eek!) but also as I could immerse myself in fun and friendly crafting world again. I managed to pop along to see Great British Sewing Bee’s Guthrie Gandhi at work, teaching a purse making workshop. Visited the Alice & Ginny workshop space, as well as perused the beautiful stalls which including Beyond Measure and Sarah Waterhouse Printed Textiles and finally purchased some pretty amazing liberty fabric to make some bonnets for my daughter from local shop Stitched By You.
